Welcome to the IDM manual
Intellisol Dispatch Matrix (IDM) moves items from one place to another in Ghana for the businesses connected to it. It answers four questions for every delivery: can it be moved, at what verified price, by whom, and where is it now?
This manual explains how to use every part of IDM, for every kind of person who uses it.
Find your guide
| You are… | You use… | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Someone sending an item through a delivery company's link | The delivery request page in your browser | Senders |
| Someone who received an SMS asking where to deliver | The secure link in that SMS | Recipients |
| Anyone following a delivery | A tracking link | Tracking |
| A rider | The Dispatch app on your phone | Riders |
| Staff of a delivery company | The Delivery Partner Portal | Delivery companies |
| A developer connecting a business system | The signed /v1 API | Developers |
Four ways to get an answer
- Search. Press Ctrl + K (or ⌘ + K on a Mac) or use the search box at the top. Search covers every page and highlights your words on the page you open.
- Ask the manual. Press the Ask the manual button at the bottom right of any page (or ?), or open the Ask page. Ask in your own words; the answer links to the pages it used. See Using Ask the manual.
- Browse. The menu on the left follows the roles above. Each page has a table of contents on the right.
- Check live information. System status shows whether the IDM services are working right now, and Track a delivery explains a tracking link's current status.
Three things to know first
- IDM's database is the truth. What the apps show is what IDM has recorded, read again each time you open a screen. Closing a page, losing signal or clearing your browser never loses or repeats a step you confirmed. If something looks out of date, reload.
- Prices come only from IDM. The delivery fee is calculated by IDM's server from the verified road distance and the delivery company's current rates. No app estimates it, and nobody can type one in.
- Nothing happens twice. Tapping a button twice, retrying on a poor connection or reopening a tab never creates a second delivery, a second payment or a second completion.
About this manual
The manual is written from IDM's specification and generated in part directly from the system: the error messages and the API reference are rebuilt from the code on every release, so they always match what IDM does. Names, references and figures in examples are illustrations, not real records.
