Send a delivery

Before you start​

  • The delivery link of the company you want to use. It looks like https://…/request/<company-name>. If the link says it is not available, the company is not taking requests right now.
  • Your recipient's name and phone number. They will confirm the drop-off place themselves.
  • Location turned on for your browser makes pinning easier, but you can also move the map by hand.

1. Who is sending​

Screen title: Send a delivery — Tell us where we're picking up your item.

  1. Enter Your name and Your phone number (for example 024 123 4567).
  2. If asked, tap Send code and enter the Code from the SMS, then Confirm phone. Some companies ask for this every time; it also unlocks your saved places.
  3. Choose the Pickup area from the list, or Use a saved place.
  4. Pin the exact place where the rider should collect your item. Drag the map until the pin is on the spot.
  5. Add a Landmark if it helps (optional), for example opposite the blue pharmacy.
  6. Tap Continue.

Continue only works when your name and phone are valid, the area is valid, a pin is set and the pickup resolves to a served place. IDM checks all of these again when you continue. If the location is refused, see why a location can be refused.

2. Who are you sending to​

Choose One recipient (Send one item to one person) or Several recipients (two to five people, each with their own link, price and rider). For several, see Bulk Delivery.

3. Choose a vehicle​

Screen title: Choose a vehicle. The list shows only vehicle types this company can use for this pickup right now, each with what it is for. A type that cannot be used is shown greyed out with the reason, for example This vehicle is currently unavailable for this delivery. See Vehicle types.

4. Who are we delivering to?​

  1. Enter the Recipient name and Recipient phone number. We send the confirmation link to this number.
  2. Optionally add an Item image: a JPEG or PNG photo of the item. It is checked, stored privately and shown only to the people doing the delivery.
  3. Optionally add a Note, for example Handle with care., Call before arrival. or Leave with security.
  4. Tap Send request to recipient.

This does not dispatch anything. IDM sends your recipient one SMS: [Your name] has requested a delivery to you. Please confirm your delivery location using this secure link: [LINK].

5. Waiting for the recipient​

Screen title: Waiting for the recipient — We sent your recipient a secure link to confirm the delivery location. You will be alerted here when they confirm. The screen shows when the link stops working.

When they confirm, your page plays a short tone and shows Recipient location confirmed — your delivery cost is ready. Tap View cost and continue with Delivery cost and dispatch.

Your recipient chooses the drop-off

Only the recipient can set where the item goes. That way the destination is always confirmed by the person who will receive it.
